Tony & Liza live in a quiet cul-de-sac overlooking the sleepy seaside town of Deal, Kent. One one side we have the countryside, on the other, the sea. On a clear day, you can see the coast of France which is only 30 km away. We have been hosting a variety of students from various agencies for well over 15 years now.
I am 67, Liza is 54. Philip, aged 27, works as a food Production Operative @ Tilmanstone Salads (He has a degree in Animal Science); Henry who will soon be 24, has a degree in Chemistry from Southampton University & is currently job hunting. He plays Lacrosse.
Although I began with French students, I think that the time has come to move on to adults, who, I feel, appreciate your efforts more than children! I can teach all levels including IELTS, but I have most material for Mid-Intermediate/ Upper Int. English level.
There are many places of interest to explore around here such as the beautiful World Heritage site of Canterbury with its shops, Cathedral & many museums & buildings of interest; the Medieval town of Sandwich with its wonderful museum with friendly chatty staff & buildings going back to 1450! Deal, itself, has 2 castles (the third one fell into the sea in the 1950s!), a pier & a time ball tower. St Margaret’s Bay is a beautiful little village nestling against the world famous white cliffs of Dover & has views & picture postcard perfect scenery & a lighthouse which Marconi developed wireless. Margate has the “Turner” but perhaps more interesting is its museum with, again, chatty staff, also the Tudor house & Shell grotto; Dover town has the Roman Painted House & also the Bronze Age Boat museum & the Town Hall; Dover Castle is a delight, especially for boys, as there is the Operation Dynamo exhibition (like walking through a PS3 game), the underground hospital, King Henry II’s keep, medieval tunnels & so much more(there are events in Summer)!!!
If the students like history & castles, I can promise them a fascinating & interesting time!!!
If time permits, we can also visit the RAF Manston museum with its Spitfire & Hurricane & Quex park with gardens, a house, a “diorama” and often events in summer.
Students get my personal guided tour & as I am a history buff, they can, if interested, learn so much!!!!!

Qualifcation: I have been teaching students from a variety of agencies over 15+ years & have a TEFL certificate. Jane has just retired from ILH & I feel that this would be an opportune time to move too, as I feel that the office staff do not know me as well as she doe.
