Brighton’s location has made it a popular destination for tourists, renowned for its diverse communities, quirky shopping areas, large cultural, music and arts scene. Brighton attracted 7.5 million day visitors in 2015/16 and 4.9 million overnight visitors and is the most popular seaside destination in the UK for overseas tourists. Brighton has also been called the UK’s “hippest city”, and “the happiest place to live in the UK”.

We love Brighton.  We love the way its alive and full of energy.  We love the wind and the rain and of course the sunshine  ( do you know we have almost the most sunshine in all of England?)  We love the way it lights up at night.  Lights twinkling along the coast and out to sea.  We love walking along the pier and over The Downs.  We love taking our Bikes and cycling along the Beach.  We love visiting all of the historic buildings and especially The Royal Pavilion.  We love spending an evening with our Tutors in a local Brighton Pub in the Regency Lanes.  We love the shops – new and old and the Sunday market to find those retro clothes and bric a brac. We love the many restaurants around the City and along the Beach.  We love the Pop Up Restaurants around the Royal Pavilion and we love the many weekend festivals they have. Add to that our experienced Tutors who live in and around Brighton and who love it as much as us.  So what are you waiting for….? Learn English in a homestay is part of English Language Homestays family, and we one of the most popular language schools in Brighton. Homestay English teaching in Brighton is always very popular. So if you choose to visit this eclectic and vibrant City you can expect to see and partake in its colourful atmosphere.

For example, did you know that if you visit Brighton in December, you can watch the “ Burning of the Clocks Ceremony”. This is a very old pagan tradition which celebrates the winter solstice. If you come in May, you may want to visit some of the many literary festivals in the Brighton Festival which is not only UK renowned but throughout the world. You can expect to see many diverse and unusual Acts and events during this time. Come and visit Brighton in the summer and you will want to spend time walking along the Boardwalk; on the Pier or even through the old Brighton Regency Lanes. You can eat out and watch the people go by. Naturally, whatever time of the year you visit Brighton, you will have to visit the Brighton Royal Pavilion and see what “ vulgarity” is really like in a British Palace. Don’t say we didn’t warn you…

Choosing a Tutor in the Brighton or South Coast area means that you will get well qualified teachers who have a passion for both learning and history.  Many of our 30 + Tutors who are based in the Brighton area will draw on their local knowledge of Brighton to engage not only your interest in English but unwrap a new passion for Brighton and its history.   Be sure to consider our Brighton tutors as a pleasant change to London on your next English teaching visit to the UK
